Agreeable vs Disagreeable

This exchange happened while having dinner with a good friend last night:

Him:   "You're awfully agreeable when you're bereft."
Me:     "Sorry about that. Just think how boring I'd be if I were agreeable all the time."
Him:    "No, no, no. It's not your disagreeableness that makes you interesting. You really
              could keep being agreeable even when you're done grieving."
